creative ways is also a big plus in reaching out to a lot of people who are
interested in your genre or field.<o:p></o:p></span></div>

This may last for a couple of days or even weeks. </span></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.5; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-align: justify;">
<span style="background-color: transparent; color: black; font-family: Arial; font-size: 16px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;"> </span></div>

If you have a website, you can use auto responders to send messages in different forms of internet media. You can send YouTube videos, eBooks, or eCourses. With this process, you tend to attract prospects and stay top of mind. As they gain interest in you, you are granted the opportunity to offer your services and market your speaking gigs. </span></div>

<li><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.5; white-space: pre-wrap;">Offering freebies also increases the chances of you getting noticed by people. </span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.5; white-space: pre-wrap;">Install a pop up plug in on your website. This can spark curiosity among people and convince them to sign up for your newsletter. </span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.5; white-space: pre-wrap;">If you have your own YouTube videos, at the end of every video, you can encourage people to sign up for your list. Without this, the interest of people might dwindle.</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.5; white-space: pre-wrap;">Give a good, catchy name or tagline for your newsletter. This entices people to dig deeper and possibly, check it out and sign up.</span></li>

<span style="font-size: large;">I have a tip for you:</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<b><span style="font-size: large;">SELL YOUR KNOWLEDGE!</span></b><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">This is my overriding principle that came from years of hard knocks trying to get people to hire me to speak. I get more speaking engagements than I ever had before.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">I made a change that had a positive effect on my career.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">I quit trying to sell the hard knocks and began selling my knowledge.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">Once people start recognizing you in your industry booking speaking engagements will be a lot easier. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">I sold my knowledge with informational products in many different formats. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">There are many people out there that have the dream of earning money while they sleep but many never make it out the dream stage. I don't want you stuck in your speaking career so this blog post will help you move forward. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">Here are 5 Tips to help you create info products that can leverage your speaking career:</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<b><span style="font-size: large;">Valuable Content</span></b><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Everything is a C.S.I (Crappy Stupid Idea) until you make money from it. Your content does not have to reinvent the wheel but it does have to be something somebody needs and would buy. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<b><span style="font-size: large;">Target Market</span></b><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Decide who needs your knowledge and how to reach them. Your knowledge should clearly define who you are helping and how. </span><br />
<b><span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></b>
<b><span style="font-size: large;">Keep your Costs Low</span></b><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">This is why Internet marketing is great. You can start on a shoestring budget and allow your idea, knowledge and brand to grow with you. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">You don't have to rent a building, take a risky business loan, or save for a lifetime to just get started. </span><br />
<b><span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></b>
<b><span style="font-size: large;">Find Other Industry Professionals </span></b><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Build relationships with other brands in your industry. There are many opportunities for joint ventures and affiliate products online. You can create a webinar to sell to another brands email list. This is how you get your name in front of more people and create a buzz. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">I know the above tips will help you grow as a professional speaker because it forces you to think, of ways to to sell your knowledge.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">I use to make $75.00 per speech, barely making a living. But when I changed my mindset and started selling my knowledge I started making $17,500.00 per speech. Now I only accept the best a speaking gigs.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Now the ball is in your court go out and book those gigs! </span><br />

<br />
As a professional speaker, it is important for you to utilize social media to grow your brand. Social media is a great platform for speakers to spread their message and meet like minded people.<br />
You should know exactly why your brand is using social media and what goals you want to accomplish. Be as specific as possible in your approach so you can stay focus. Here are 3 types of social content mediums that help professional speakers grow their brand:<br />
<br />
<b>Don't Neglect Your Blog</b><br />
Sometimes entrepreneurs become confused and overwhelmed on what topics they should blog about. <br />
Consider your keyword research when developing topics. Your blog should answer questions that an interested prospect would have about your industry.<br />
<br />
You should also consider blogging on related subjects. For example, if you are a motivational speaker for college students your blog should include college tips, speaking tips and how to’s. Don’t over think this part, you do not have to know everything to share your unique knowledge.<br />
<b><br /></b>
<b>YouTube Marketing</b><br />
Video marketing is a great approach to building trust in your industry. Place one of your speeches on YouTube to show off your skills. Add a video to a blog post so you can go into more detail. Adding video to your social media strategy will let prospects see you and what you have to offer in action. When you visually connect with the viewer, you will stay top of mind.<br />
<br />
<b>Podcasts </b><br />
You can include an audio recording of your short speech on your website. You can give how to's, or little quick snippet tips. Audio is a great way to display your knowledge and expertise.<br />
<br />
Once you start creating consistent content that shows off your brand you will start to understand your audience. Once you produce your great content do not forget to be social. Remember to engage with your audience. Also, by mixing up the delivery of content. Give your audience options on how they can consumer you information.Some people like an audio file over a video because they have along commute to work. <br />

<h3>
<span style="font-size: large;">Selling yourself can be a difficult task for many entrepreneurs. </span></h3>
<span style="font-size: large;">Selling yourself can be a difficult task for many entrepreneurs.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">We are brainwashed as entrepreneurs, and have become accustomed to believing that any form of self promotion is a turn off to potential clients. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">You heard about the bad reputation used car salesmen have received over the years. They have a terrible reputation for being pushy and impersonal, and you do not want to be that guy or girl. I do not think every used car salesman deserves a bad reputation, but just like, in any business there are different approaches.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">If you want to establish a successful brand, you must know how to market yourself in a way that is appropriate for the occasion and sparks interest.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">The core of all marketing is reaching new clients and increasing profits. But, marketing has two very different approaches. Transactional marketing and relationship marketing.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">I define the two contrasting approaches below. You should understand the difference, so that your future self promotion will feel natural and smooth.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Formulating an answer that aligns with your brand and promotes clearly to the listener what you do is the goal.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">Transactional marketing is an approach to business that focuses only on the sale. Getting as many sales as possible, and increasing profits is the goal here. This approach is associated with being money hungry or doing whatever it takes to make a profit. Transactional marketing is based on the four P's:</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">Product - has to meet the buyers needs</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">Pricing - a balance between what the consumer will pay and what brings in the most profit for business</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">Placement - path of distribution</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">Promotion - adding a little hype and exciting around the product to make it appealing to potential buyers.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">If you are interested in building your personal brand, the transactional approach will not benefit you in the long run.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">In contrast, the relationship marketing approach focuses on the potential buyer. The business owner seeks out ways to understand, help and offer solutions to problems. This approach is a bold statement. It says, “I care about my clients, and I will prove that by offering great value.” Understanding the difference between the two will help you overcome the fear of self promoting.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">If you're in business for the long run, there is no doubt that relationship marketing is the way to go. The simplest form of relationship marketing is promoting who you really are. I know it sounds elementary but, “Just be yourself.” Ask yourself some important questions like:</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">What are your values?</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">What are you passionate about?</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">What are your goals?</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">How does what you do benefit the people around you?</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">Discovering who you truly are, is a journey that should not be summed up in 4 questions. The questions will get your brain moving and thinking about the bigger picture.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Once you establish what is important to you and the path for your business and life, answering “What do you do?” will never feel impersonal or pushy. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Your answer should speak the truth, be simple and to the point. Tell the listener what you want them to know about you and tie it into what you offer. Share what inspires you and not a job title.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">Tips for Successful Self Promotion</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">First impressions are everything, and to master the art of self promotion you have to have confidence leaking out of your pores. When you believe in yourself and are being true to your beliefs, it will come across as passion. So, instead of spitting out a boring and lifeless answer you can spark the listener's interest.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Remember, sincere passion moves the people around you to take action. That is how you avoid coming across as a used car salesman.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">Try to step outside of your comfort level, this will allow you to stay fresh and inspiring. Self promotion can take your brand to the next level, but it will take some practice and thought on your part. Talking about yourself is fine but always look for ways tie it into the listener. Give them a reason to care. I personally feel that when people ask probing questions they are really asking,</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">What’s in it for me?</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">So tell your potential client what you have to offer and let them decide if the fit is right. There is nothing pushy or impersonal about that. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">Don’t be afraid to display what makes you unique and use that to help others. Each and every one of us has a unique story or approach, and you should weave that into your brand so you can resonate with your potential buyers.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">So, now what is your response to “What do you do?”</span><br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgxRVwmCSPpBXbXMt3Uzpd-7FtyVZCnuBg2-Q9OkZP_Ul0oclvfY3OtVjQyhNYSIUCTgMfu_t5FePdVLurg9yoo2wzZpZUUkeCtc90Ha7RXLodjbzPBFAa_A4b5bJwSv6J5uE3c/s1600/DESIGN++.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgxRVwmCSPpBXbXMt3Uzpd-7FtyVZCnuBg2-Q9OkZP_Ul0oclvfY3OtVjQyhNYSIUCTgMfu_t5FePdVLurg9yoo2wzZpZUUkeCtc90Ha7RXLodjbzPBFAa_A4b5bJwSv6J5uE3c/s1600/DESIGN++.png" height="320" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Opt-in boxes are extremely important to your web success because they will help you build your email list. There are many different types of opt -in box options. You should test the different options to see which one grabs your readers attention and converts better. There are a few basic elements that any good opt- in box should include:<br />
<br />
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: verdana, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">
<b>1. Lots of benefits</b> near the point where the person has to make a decision to put in their email address. People are afraid you will spam them to death so you must make it extremely enticing for people to risk putting in their email address.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: verdana, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: verdana, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">
</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: verdana, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">
<b>2. A blank field or fields </b>that send the psychological message to the person looking at it that they should put something in the empty field. It's not a good practice to simply put a link to your opt in box or worse yet, have it as one of your regular navigation buttons. People will gloss over it there and many will never see it at all.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: verdana, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: verdana, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">
</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: verdana, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">
<b>3. Not too many fields</b> The more fields you require someone to fill in, the less people that will sign up. You may intentionally want less people to sign up if you have to follow up with them by phone and you don't have enough people to handle all your leads. Certainly the more info they are willing to fill out, the more qualified they are. When simply giving away a free digital newsletter or download you want as many people to sign up as you can, so less fields to fill out is a better idea.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: verdana, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: verdana, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">
</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: verdana, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">
<b>4. High on page </b>Your opt in boxes should be positioned high on your page, so it can be seen on the first screen without scrolling. That doesn't mean you can't have additional signup areas further down the page, but in most cases we want at least one signup area on the first screen a visitor will land on.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: verdana, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: verdana, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">
</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: verdana, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">
<b>5. Multiple locations</b> Each page can have multiple locations to sign people up and you should have at least one sign up area on every major page of your site. Remember people can enter your site on any page. They may never see your home page so it's important to have signup areas all over the place.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: verdana, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: verdana, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">
</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: verdana, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">
<b>6. Put the opt in form in an unblockable pop up box.</b> This is a real attention grabber and forces the visitor to look at your opt in box. Unblockable pop up boxes are made with code called "Dynamic HTML" also known as "DHTML".</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: verdana, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: verdana, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">
<b>7. A Freebie </b>Make sure you give your readers a reason to joint your list. Give away something of value like a PDF, Video file, or an e-course</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: verdana, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">
</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: verdana, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">
You can buy inexpensive dynamic pop up box generators. Search google for them. Most will show you a sample of the type of boxes they will make. Some will drop in from the top of the page and bounce. Some will slide in from the left and leave to the right. Some will follow the visitor all the way down the page. You may want to set "cookies" on the boxes so they only show a limited amount of times for any particular visitor.</div>

<span style="color: #444444;">The Internet has completely changed the marketing world for authors. Now writers have a wide range of options when they want to bring attention to themselves on the Internet. Authors can</span><br />
<span style="color: #444444;"><br /></span>
<span style="color: #444444;"><br /></span>
<ul>
<li><span style="color: #444444;">Build a website</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #444444;">Start a blog </span></li>
<li><span style="color: #444444;">Establish a following on social networking sites</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #444444;">Participate in forums</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #444444;">Create a book trailer for YouTube</span></li>
<li><span style="color: #444444;">Start public speaking</span></li>
</ul>
<span style="color: #444444;"><br /></span>
<span style="color: #444444;"><br /></span>
<span style="color: #444444;">All of the above steps allow writers to share and showcase their work. Publishers want authors to have a hands on approach when promoting their book. What do you think is the best option for self promoting your book?</span>Tom Antionhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04693969253822540745noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8616142.post-83817509052783259502013-10-31T13:02:00.001-04:002014-02-22T13:49:41.167-05:006 Tips for Starting a Great Conversation at Business Events<br />
<div style="font: 12.0px Helvetica; margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px;">
<div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 18px;">
After spending a great weekend in Las Vegas for the Author 101 Event, I participated in and observed a lot of conversations. I love networking and networking at a business event is a skill that is developed with practice.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 18px; min-height: 21px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 18px;">
I noticed some authors and speakers need a little improvement on how to start and have a great conversation at a networking event. It is very important that you learn how to work the room at networking events to get the most bang for your buck. I came up with 6 Critical tips for making the best out of your conversations with the other attendees.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 18px; min-height: 21px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 18px; margin-bottom: 19.9px;">
<b>Smile and be Genuine </b></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 18px; min-height: 21px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 18px;">
A warm welcoming smile is a great way to brake the ice. You want to try to initiate the conversation so that you can control the direction and flow. You should be friendly and professional. I witnessed a very awkward conversation, the person initiating the first question said with a very stern look, "Why are you here?" Gosh, talk about getting straight to the point! Although he was not trying to be rude his question put a negative awkward tone on the whole conversation going forward. I suggest that you smile and try to be relaxed with your questions. </div>
<div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 18px; margin-bottom: 19.9px;">
<b>Make Yourself Rememberable</b></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 18px;">
Stories are great way to create a lasting first impression. Share something short and interesting about yourself without sounding like a direct sales pitch. Why did you start your business? What are your passions? Tie those questions into your conversation. Questions are great for opening a conversation but let the conversation flow in both directions. Listen to the person you are talking to instead of thinking about what you want to say next. If you are handing out a business card (one preferably with your picture) this will help people connect the dots with a face even if they don't remember your name. </div>
<div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 18px; min-height: 21px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 18px; margin-bottom: 19.9px;">
<b>Positive Body Language</b></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 18px;">
You should walk around confidently with your head held high. This will show people that you are approachable and open to conversation. Try to enjoy the moment and relax. </div>
<div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 18px;">
Also take notice on how close you stand to somebody when engaging in conversation. </div>
<div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 18px;">
The distance between you and the person you are speaking to is very important, you want to be close enough so that they can hear you but not so close it becomes uncomfortable. Always keep a personal bubble when engaging in conversation. It is hard to give an exact distance because of height differences and how noisy the room is but your distance is something you should be aware of. Being super close makes the conversation uncomfortable. If you see the person your talking to shifting body weight and leaning back take a step back and respect their space. </div>
<div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 18px; min-height: 21px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 18px; margin-bottom: 19.9px;">
<b>Understand You Will Make Mistakes</b></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 18px; margin-bottom: 19.9px;">
Don't put to much pressure on yourself we are all human. You may trip over your words or forget a name. Human interaction is fun but of course you can not plan every steps so roll with your mistakes and move on. </div>
<div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 18px; min-height: 21px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 18px; margin-bottom: 19.9px;">
<b>Stay Focused </b></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 18px; margin-bottom: 19.9px;">
The majority of your conversations should be short and to the point. If you find somebody that you can connect with in the future, exchange cards and establish how you will contact them after the event is over. You are there to meet as many people as possible so never try to get in a super detailed conversation that takes up a lot of time. It's very important you don't over stay your welcome and "talk a hole" in somebodies head. Know when it is time to move on to the next contact. Pay attention to your surroundings, if you see somebody waiting to talk to the same person you are talking to don't keep them waiting in the background while you ramble on and on. </div>
<div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 18px; margin-bottom: 19.9px;">
<b>Be yourself!</b></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 18px;">
You want to attract people to you that you can have a successful business relationship with so it is imperative that you be yourself. If nobody ever laughs at your jokes don't make any jokes. Just because you read that a joke s a great way to break the ice it may not be the best way for you to break the ice. Be genuinely true to who you are to get the best results out of a networking event.</div>
<div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 18px; min-height: 21px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 18px;">
Have you attended any business networking events? What are some tips you use for starting a great conversation? </div>
<div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 18px; min-height: 21px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 18px; min-height: 21px;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 18px; min-height: 21px;">
<br /></div>

One of my $50.00 sites won INC Magazine’s Best-of-the-Web
Awards and beat out three other million dollar sites. The panel of CEOs that
evaluated all the sites said that mine was easy to navigate and they could find
what they wanted fast. Here’s a goal that will surprise most website owners:
Try to have five or less main navigation buttons and that includes “Home” and
“Contact Us”. Yes, I know it will be a tough exercise, but tough for you a
little bit in the beginning makes it easy for your visitors forever.<o:p></o:p></div>

All the big players make most of their money with legitimate
broadcast email. Most website owners don’t make a serious effort to turn their
visitors in to opt in subscribers and they don’t send enough email to their

information to people who have asked for it, then you can sleep well at night

With new Internet related obligations coming at you ever day

that both take care of your prospects and customers and take a load off of you.
Most of my business runs through a shopping cart system that includes broadcast
email, autoresponders, upselling modules, promotion testing modules and many
other features that help you sell more to each customer that visits your site.
I use and promote <a href="http://www.kickstartcart.com/">http://www.KickStartCart.com</a>

selling I think we all agree it’s important to stimulate demand for it. One of
the best and most cost effective ways is to create an information product that
teaches people about the benefits and uses of the “actual” product you are
selling. For instance, I distribute a </span>free e-book about the shopping cart I mentioned above that
has brought in over $2,500,000.00 in commissions because it teaches people what
they don’t know about shopping cart systems. Business owners need to take
advantage of cheap print on demand, audio and video production and e-book
production to make people want to buy what they are selling because they see
the benefits.<br />

<ul style="color: #444444;">
<li style="font-weight: bold;">Use Fundraisers to get tons of publicity. . . meet high power producers, hosts, writers and journalists who will welcome the chance to work with you.<br /></li>
<li style="font-weight: bold;"><span style="color: #3366ff;">Get powerful testimonials you could never access in any other way. . . these will be your main tools for people to start calling you to do fundraisers for their group.<br /></span></li>
<li><strong>Network with influential people that love to attend fundraisers. . . Many people you would like to reach won't come out for anything. . . . but they will come out for fundraisers.<br /></strong></li>
<li><span style="font-weight: 800;"><span style="color: #3366ff;">Structure deals so that both you and the group make money . . . In fact, in most cases you will make more than the group and if you do it like I tell you, they won't mind a bit.<br /></span></span></li>
<li><span style="font-weight: 800;">Save people from rotting their teeth out. . . .WHAT? . . . I'm serious and you'll see what I mean on the webinar.<br /></span></li>
<li><span style="font-weight: 800;"><span style="color: #3366ff;">Structure and monitor the agreement so you get the biggest attendance possible. . . you don't want only three people showing up and if you aren't careful, it could happen that way.<br /></span></span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 800;">Avoid disasters that could ruin the entire event . . . unexpected costs could eat up the money . . . don't let that happen to you.<br /></li>
<li><span style="font-weight: 800;"><span style="color: #3366ff;">How to find meeting space with awesome AV equipment with ZERO costs. . . almost every community has gorgeous meeting space available on a complimentary basis. I show you where to find it.</span></span></li>

<br /></div>
<div style="font: 12.0px Helvetica; margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font: 12.0px Helvetica; margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px;">
Many professional speakers ignore the fact that your style is just as important as having great content. Style and content work together in your professional speeches. As a professional speaker you must establish your own unique style if you want your audience to remember your important points. Content will always be important but having a unique style is just as valuable. </div>
<div style="font: 12.0px Helvetica; margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; min-height: 14.0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font: 12.0px Helvetica; margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px;">
As a speaker your job is to help the audience understand, remember, and apply your important points. If you have no style you will struggle reaching your audience and sparking interest. Good style helps the audience remember your great content. If your content is weak, then your leave your audience with a lot of unanswered questions. If your style is weak your audience will never listen to you.</div>
<div style="font: 12.0px Helvetica; margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; min-height: 14.0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font: 12.0px Helvetica; margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px;">
There are many blog posts on how to present great content and move an audience to action, but how can you get great style?</div>
<div style="font: 12.0px Helvetica; margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; min-height: 14.0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font: 12.0px Helvetica; margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px;">
<b>You have to enjoy what you are presenting</b>. You truly have to believe and stand behind your topic 100 percent if you want your great style to resonate with the audience. If you truly believe in your content, your enthusiasm will come out in your speech.</div>
<div style="font: 12.0px Helvetica; margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; min-height: 14.0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font: 12.0px Helvetica; margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px;">
<b>Remember to be yourself! </b>Style is not about trying to be somebody else you want to find your own personal style. Once you find the perfect intersection between content and style you will be able to connect with your audience on a deeper level. Connecting with the audience is how you can inspire them to action. </div>
<div style="font: 12.0px Helvetica; margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font: 12.0px Helvetica; margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px;">
I challenge you to take your speaking career to the next level and work on you speaking style. </div>

By joining a group related to your industry and niche you can expose yourself to the many resources available to you. These resources include new blogs to follow, articles that you can comment on, and many links to the unlimited amount of information available to you on the web.<o:p></o:p></span></div>

<br>
<b>Hashtags are everywhere!</b>
Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Tumblr, Instagram, and Google+ all use hashtags.
Do you completely understand how they can help your business?
<br>
<br>
Hashtags help Internet marketers communicate online. It is very important you know how to implement hashtags into your social media marketing strategy. Hashtags allow you to join conversations about anything that is relevant to your industry with real time public conversations being displayed. Think of keywords, use targeted keywords to get the best results. You should use this feature to engage with consumers and stay current with the news in your industry. A marketer can also add hashtags in an advertising campaigns to amplify your reach over multiple social networks.
<br>
<br>
Hashtags are a great way to organize content and be active on the current trends. I have seen some hashtag abuse so I am offering a few suggestions to make sure you are getting the most bang for your efforts.
<br>
<br>
<b>Hashtag Etiquette </b>
<br>
<br>
<br>
1. Make sure your hashtag relates to your message. Do not add hashtags to a message if it has nothing to do with the message, that is considered hashtag spamming. It will also make you look like you don't know what you are doing. Consumers don't want to search #Dogs and end up seeing a picture of a bird in the results.
<br>
<br>
2. Keep your hashtags short and to the point. Three words should be the maximum for a single hashtag. Anything longer becomes really hard to read and your message may be lost in translation. For example; #HashtagsThatTurnIntoSentencesAndGoesOnForALongTimeAreAnnoying.
<br>
<br>
3. Use hashtags to help build brand awareness. By creating a unique hashtag for your business you are starting a new real-time feed with that particular hashtag. So when a consumer clicks on your unique hashtag they will pull up your businesses messages, pictures, or links. An unique hashtag will also help you get noticed and bring attention back to your business.
<br>
<br>
4. Do not hashtag every word in your message. A message with a lot of hashtags is hard for the consumer to read, so focus on the subject of your message and add your hashtags at the end.
<br>
<br>
5. No spaces between words. If you want to make your hashtag easier to read use capital letters #SocialMediaMarketing will pull up the same results as #socialmediamarketing
<br>
<br>
6. Punctuation marks and special characters are not supported.
<br><br>
7. Search using hashtags you will be amazed to find out all the valuable info that is hiding behind some of the most used hashtag in social media.
<br><br>
Hashtags are great tool for marketers and now that all the major social networks are supporting clickable hashtags this will be very helpful when trying to engage with the consumer.

<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Tahoma, Helvetica, FreeSans, sans-serif; font-size: x-small;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="line-height: 18px;"></span></span>
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Tahoma, Helvetica, FreeSans, sans-serif;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="line-height: 18px;">You have a speaking event coming up and you are trying to decide...</span></span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Tahoma, Helvetica, FreeSans, sans-serif; font-weight: bold; line-height: 18px;"><b><br /></b></span>
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Tahoma, Helvetica, FreeSans, sans-serif; font-weight: bold; line-height: 18px;"><b>To have a handout or not? </b></span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Tahoma, Helvetica, FreeSans, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;">I think almost any presentation can benefit from having a handout. A handout will help the audience remember you and enhances your creditability. You handout should:</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Tahoma, Helvetica, FreeSans, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;"><strong><br /></strong></span>
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Tahoma, Helvetica, FreeSans, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;"><strong>- USE A LARGE FONT.</strong></span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Tahoma, Helvetica, FreeSans, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;"> </span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Tahoma, Helvetica, FreeSans, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;">It makes more impact and is easier to read. It also makes you handout larger which makes it appear more substantial.</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Tahoma, Helvetica, FreeSans, sans-serif;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="line-height: 18px;"><br /></span></span>
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Tahoma, Helvetica, FreeSans, sans-serif;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="line-height: 18px;"><b>- DOUBLE CHECK FOR TYPOS AND ERRORS. </b></span></span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Tahoma, Helvetica, FreeSans, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;">The best way to proof read is to print out the document.</span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Tahoma, Helvetica, FreeSans, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;"> </span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Tahoma, Helvetica, FreeSans, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;">This is something I learned way back in grade school. I dont know why, but when I proof read my document on the computer I always miss a typo or error. You want to come across as an expert so make sure your handout represents that.</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Tahoma, Helvetica, FreeSans, sans-serif;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="line-height: 18px;"><br /></span></span>
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Tahoma, Helvetica, FreeSans, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;"><strong>- LEAVE LOTS OF WHITE SPACE.</strong></span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Tahoma, Helvetica, FreeSans, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;"> </span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Tahoma, Helvetica, FreeSans, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;">I had a complaint recently that said there was not enough space to write notes. I usually deliver very high content so this was clearly a mistake on my part in not leaving enough space for notes. You want to make it easy for the audience to take notes and follow along with your presentation. Encouraging audience members to take notes on your handout will help them retain information and more than likely your handout wont end up in the trash. </span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Tahoma, Helvetica, FreeSans, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;"><br /></span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Tahoma, Helvetica, FreeSans, sans-serif;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="line-height: 18px;"><b>- ALWAYS MAKE EXTRA COPIES. </b>Being prepared is key and being over prepared will save you a lot of headaches if something goes wrong. You should be excited if somebody requests multiple copies the more people that see your material the better.</span></span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Tahoma, Helvetica, FreeSans, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;"><br /></span>
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Tahoma, Helvetica, FreeSans, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;"><b>- PUT CONTACT INFORMATION ON EVERY PAGE.</b></span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Tahoma, Helvetica, FreeSans, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;"> </span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Tahoma, Helvetica, FreeSans, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;">You never know when people will tear out a page or photocopy a single page of your handout. Putting your info on every page makes sure whoever sees any page of your handout can contact you.</span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Tahoma, Helvetica, FreeSans, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;"><br /></span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Tahoma, Helvetica, FreeSans, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;"><br /></span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Tahoma, Helvetica, FreeSans, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;"><strong>- PUT IMPORTANT RESOURCES ON EVERY PAGE.</strong></span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Tahoma, Helvetica, FreeSans, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;"> </span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Tahoma, Helvetica, FreeSans, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;">If you want people to keep your handout make sure each page has some important resource that an audience member cannot do without. When you put all the resources on one page it makes it easy for someone to tear it out and throw the rest of your handout away.</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Tahoma, Helvetica, FreeSans, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;"><b><br /></b></span>
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Tahoma, Helvetica, FreeSans, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;"><b>-Don't print out your Powerpoint slides.</b> That is just boring and a waste of time and paper. Your handout should add value to your presentation. </span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Tahoma, Helvetica, FreeSans, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;"><br /></span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Tahoma, Helvetica, FreeSans, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;"><strong>- USE A TEAR OFF ACTION ITEM PAGE.</strong></span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Tahoma, Helvetica, FreeSans, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;"> </span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Tahoma, Helvetica, FreeSans, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;">Make it the last page so it's easy to tear off at the beginning of the seminar or speech. Have the attendees use it for those special aha's they get. You can then have them say some of their items aloud which reinforces the value you are giving.</span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Tahoma, Helvetica, FreeSans, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;"><br /></span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Tahoma, Helvetica, FreeSans, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;"><br /></span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Tahoma, Helvetica, FreeSans, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;">Handouts are only a small part of effective presentations.</span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Tahoma, Helvetica, FreeSans, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;"> </span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Tahoma, Helvetica, FreeSans, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;"><a href="http://www.amazingpublicspeaking.com/" style="color: #cc6611; text-decoration: none;" target="_blank">Learn the secrets of highly paid public speakers. </a></span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Tahoma, Helvetica, FreeSans, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18px;"><br /></span>Tom Antionhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04693969253822540745noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8616142.post-37993467608780287012013-09-17T14:30:00.003-04:002013-09-17T14:35:07.613-04:00Get In the Moment! <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Are you striving to become a "perfect" public speaker?<br />
<br />
That is great but I want you to consider changing your approach. Trying to be perfect can cause a ton of stress and most of the time you will still come up short. You should always expect the unexpected. There are a lot of things that can go wrong during a public speech that you have little to no control over which is why striving to be "perfect"is hard and stressful. If during your speech one thing does not go as planned you will be flustered and off of your 'A' game.<br />
<br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Helvetica;">Darren LaCroix has a new speaking program out </span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Helvetica;">"Improve Your Speaking With Improv Training" </span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Helvetica;">I've promoted Darren before. He always delivers, has massive </span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Helvetica;">speaking credentials and is reasonably priced. Darren believes:</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Helvetica;"><br /></span>
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Helvetica;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #333333; font-family: Arial, Tahoma, Verdana; font-size: 14px; line-height: 20px;"></span></span><br />
<h4 style="color: #03216a; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', 'Trebuchet MS'; font-size: 18px; font-weight: bold; text-align: center;">
<strong><em>“The audience doesn’t want you perfect.<br />They want you <span style="text-decoration: underline;">present</span>!”</em>~Darren</strong></h4>
<div>
His new speaking program is designed to help you, the public speaker connect with the audience and look like a pro when the unexpected happens. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
If you are serious about speaking I recommend Darrens' program so you can really leave a lasting impression with your audience. </div>

I haven't been keeping up with everything, but so far Trump has called Schneiderman: <div>
<ul>
<li>A Political Hack</li>
<li>A Lightweight</li>
<li>An Extortionist</li>
</ul>
</div>
<div>
Schneiderman pretty much says prosecutors are used to personal attacks and deflections from the actual wrongdoings when they catch a fraudster. He also mentioned how the 9th Circuit US Court of Appeals used Bernie Madoff as a comparison in their opinion when they threw out the defamation case Trump filed against one of his former students.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Hmmmmm. Pretty serious charges accusing Donald Trump of fraud.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I don't really think Trump is helping the cause. He's great at blowing smoke, but none of that will fly when he has to actually face charges in a court of law. It would help his cause out tremendously if he would directly address some of the allegations and get off this 98% approval bandwagon which will be totally trashed when scrutinized closely.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
It also appears he jerked around the Department of Education for several years to keep out of going through the licensing procedure to become an actual school. Why would he do that? . . . Possibly to avoid close scrutiny.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
What about the "handpicked" instructors? Their qualifications are in big question. Let's have some answers please Mr. Trump. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
The list of allegations is long with no actual answers yet. .....Only attacks on the AG.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<b>98% Approval</b></div>
<div>
Very skilled motivational speakers can get 150% approval using their manipulative techniques. One of the alleged victims, Bob Guillo explained how the charismatic speaker virtually begged for a good evaluation so Mr. Trump would have him back.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Also, the U.S. Court of Appeals in the 9th circuit said, "...victims of con artists often sing the praises of their victimizers until the moment they realize they have been fleeced."</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Anyway, the more these two fight it out the better it is for my cause to clean up the seminar industry. </div>

I'm 22 year seminar industry veteran and Past President of the National Capital Professional Speakers Association.<br />
<br />
For years in hotel seminar rooms and arenas all over the country millions of dollars are being lost to unscrupulous and sociopathic seminar promoters and speakers every single day. The same techniques are used over and over to misrepresent, overhype and out and out lie about the benefits of advanced coaching.<br />
<br />
For the last two years I've been the number one whistleblower exposing the dirty tricks used at seminars to separate attendees from their cash with little or nothing to show for it. My article “<a href="http://greatpublicspeaking.blogspot.com/2013/07/Top20SeminarScams.html">The Top 20 Seminar Scams</a>” (now up to 25) has been downloaded thousands of times. This article shows the exact techniques used both before and after seminars to rob money right under the nose of law enforcement.<br />
<br />
I've never been to a Trump event, but I've been to hundreds like it and have been involved for the past two years in exposing these techniques.<br />
<br />
One of the biggest complaints is that Trump misrepresented his offerings. The Attorney General said Trump led students to believe they would meet him and then seminar organizers only let them have a picture next to a cardboard cutout of him. Trump wasn't even there.<br />
<br />
The Attorney General also said Trump claimed to handpick the instructors but never handpicked any of them.<br />
<br />
Trump is fighting back calling the AG names and claiming he had a 98 percent approval rating at the University. I've been doing media interviews explaining how such a claim could be made whether true or not.<br />
<br />
I'm really happy to see this suit being filed and again I might add that I do not know for sure the merits of the case and for all I know Trump is squeaky clean. I just know that I tweet all kinds of scams 20 times a day @scambrigade and it never ceases to amaze me the law enforcement time and effort used to capture a bad check writer who’s stolen maybe $1000.00 while a seminar promoter/speaker can take $35,000.00 or more (I've seen it up to $100,000.00) each off 1000's of people and never even worry about getting caught.<br />
<br />
I don't know about the politics of this because I hate politics. I'm just glad someone in power is finally seeing and bringing to light what I've been exposing for the last two years... the dirt in the speaking and seminar industry.<br />
<br />
