This simple principle suggests that the audience will remember what they hear first (primacy) and what they hear last (recency). So, it is a good idea to pay particular attention to your Opening and your Closing. <br /><br />Experience shows that, even between these two, the closing endures better in the memory of the audience than the opening. So do not take it for granted. Sadly, many speakers tend to close with "...and I guess that's it. Thank you."
