My Trusted Sidekick: The Yeti Blue Mic

The Yeti is a USB microphone used for professional recording. A USB microphone connects to a computer or a laptop and allows the user to record directly into the computer.

I use a Yeti to record all of my audio lessons and telesiminars. If you are in the speaking business you should invest in a high quality USB microphone. With the Blue Yeti you can produce great sounding audio recording in no time. The Blue Yeti offers:

 • Multiple pattern selection:

Stereo - Great for capturing realistic stereo image. Get equal amounts of signal in both left and right channels by centering the sound source. The front of the microphone is the side with the Blue Microphone Logo.

Omnidirectional - Microphone picks up sound equally from all directions. Good for group recordings like musicians playing at the same time, conversation between people, or a conference call. Captures the ambience of "being there."

Cardioid - Microphone picks up sound directly in front of microphone. Sounds at the rear and the sides are not picked up. Used for vocals, podcasts, or voiceovers. The most direct rich sound.

Bidirectional - Microphone picks up sound at the front and rear. The sounds to the side are not picked up. Useful in achieving a nuanced pleasant sound when recording musical instruments or an interview with two or more guests.
