Public Speaking : Words are Funny

Public speaking professionals are careful to choose specific words in their presentations. As you are probably aware, some words are seen as funnier than others. Cracker, turkey, donkey…these words are funny. Why? Research found that the “K” sound acts as a reminder to our baby days. When Grandmama Kline pinched your cheeks and made the cootchie-cootchie coo noises, she was conditioning you to find comfort in these sounds. Now as an adult, we find humor in these sounds.

Before your public speaking presentations, try to find a few funny words with the “K” sound to include. Just remember that not all words that have a “K” sound include Ks. Some are hard Cs.
